 Lesson in Sequential Steps

  1. Log onto your MySpace account. Go to MySpace and log on using your e-mail and password.

2. You will be directed to your homepage. On the upper right side, above your profile image, there is a link that states “Edit Profile.” Click here.

3. Next, you will be directed to the profile-editing page. Sections such as “About Me” and “Who I’d Like To Meet” will appear as you scroll downward.

4. Now, leave this webpage be and open a new Internet browser page.

5. Go to Tinypic. There are other websites such as Photobucket but this lesson will use Tinypic as the example. Both websites use a very similar method, as TinyPic is a production of the Photobucket Company.

6. At the Tinypic homepage, you will see on the right hand side the title: “Upload Images and Videos.” Click on the “Browse” button.

7. Your computer files will appear, in which you will be able to direct your curser to select the image you want to upload.

8. Once you have located the image you want to upload, click on the image and select “Open.”

9. The image file name will appear in the “file” box on the homepage of Tinypic. You are now ready to upload.

10. Click the green button titled “UPLOAD NOW!”

11. When your image is finished uploading, the page will refresh with the image to the right side and the image “tags” to the left.

12. Click on the first “tag” listed which is located under the title “HTML for Websites.”

13. This ‘tag’ should highlight in blue. Now, click on it again. It should stay blue. You have now copied the ‘tag’ and it is ready for pasting onto your MySpace Profile editing page.

14. Go back to your MySpace profile editing page.

15. Choose the section you want to place your image.

16. Place your curser in the desired location and right-click. Select Paste.

The ‘tag’ link will appear like ↓ on your editing page.

17. Now, if you would like to preview your page with the image before saving, click on “Preview Profile”.

Above is an example of my page with the image appearing on my Profile when I clicked “Preview Profile.”

When you like the way the image appears, save your profile by clicking “Save Profile.”

18. Go to “Visit Profile” on the upper right hand side of the editing page to see your edited profile with the image.

19. Repeat steps for adding additional images to your MySpace profile.

  • Clear the TinyPic screen with your current image and tags by clicking the link that says “Upload More” that is to the right-hand side under the image (after an image is uploaded). This clears the image and tags to allow you to upload another image.
  • You are only allowed to upload one image at a time.
